I had the privilege today of waiting on a WWII veteran. He is 94 years old, and served in the Pacific theatre as an Engineer for the Air Force. Both of my grandfathers also served in WWII, US Navy and RCAF. So, you could say I have a soft spot for vets, and our elders in general. All too often, these folks are relegated to the dustbin; their story, our history, goes unheard. There are not many WWII vets left, and they have great stories to tell. Do yourself a favor if you have the opportunity to meet one, and listen.
