Yesterday, I was cleaning out my room and found some stunning bangles, earrings and an anklet which I had worn at a traditional Indian wedding of a friend in 2019. It was the first wedding which I had ever attended here in Canada and I was excited to attend the multiple different ceremonies that were taking place. The whole wedding stretched over the course of three days.
This year made me realize that ever since that summer 2019 wedding, I have not had the occasion to get invited in any weddings at all due to the pandemic. I look forward to attending more future weddings from various cultures since a lot of my friends are from diverse cultures. Its a great moment to learn about their traditional garments, ceremonies and food. I will lay out the process work for my sketches down below.
For anyone who does not know about the hand patterns, they are supposed to mimic henna designs. Henna is a dye that is used to create designs on the hands and feet of the bride. It can also be used to dye your hair and I have seen people use it for faux freckles as well.
