I agree with your perspective on the 'police-mind' of an individual in a police state in comparison to other gore.

However it must be addressed that violence is simply force. The need to exert control. And when people lack control in their real life they look for it in other ways - games for example. These provide an outlet by which a person can harness the most raw version of control - physical violence - by which to exercise their will.

It is unfortunate that more do not search for better avenues to gain, retain and maintain control in their own lives before resorting to such distractions.

We are control demons in a sense - a populace addicted to the ability to control other people. Money plays a huge role within this.
