SPS Staking Announcement
Rewards for SPS staked in-game are scheduled to start at Hive block 56,186,000 which should be roughly around 12 - 1 PM ET / 16:00 - 17:00 UTC tomorrow, August 2nd, 2021.
The rewards will come from the "SPS Staking Rewards" pool and will begin at 7,500,000 SPS tokens per month (decreasing at 1% per month thereafter) as described in the SPS whitepaper here: https://sps.splinterlands.com/rewards.
These tokens will be distributed among all players who have SPS tokens staked in their accounts in game in proportion to the amount of SPS they have staked compared to the total.
Splinterlands Scaling Update
After a significant amount of review about how the entire Splinterlands system works, we have determined that there are a number of game operations that can (and should) be moved off of the blockchain while still allowing us to maintain a fully transparent, publicly verifiable, and provably fair system that our players expect.
As a result, we are planning to move all battle-related operations off of the blockchain. This will include the following operations: find_match, cancel_match, submit_team, team_reveal, and surrender.

Aganju can use his melee attack from the second position thanks to the Reach ability and can get in some nice damage for only 1 mana from safely behind the tank! He's also pretty quick so he rarely misses his targets and can be hard to hit as well.
Splinterlands sells 60,000+ Spellbooks!
It took us (Splinterlands) over 2.5 years to sell the first 20,000 Spellbooks to our earliest players. We sold the second 20,000 Spellbooks in just five months in the first part of 2021. Now we celebrate the sale of a third 20,000 Spellbooks, sold in under two weeks' time!
It's a great time to be part of this community, and we (Splinterlands) want to thank each and every player who has purchased a Spellbook thus far. We're so glad to have you as part of the community, and we think you're going to like where we're going.

50,000 Daily Active Users!
With more than 250,000 total accounts created and over 70,000 Spellbooks purchased, perhaps it shouldn't come as a surprise that the Splinterlands daily players count has now surpassed 50,000.
This number has been steadily growing, especially since July, when we reached 25,000 daily active users. Expected though it may be, it is still incredible beyond belief to know that over fifty thousand of you are playing Splinterlands each and every day. The growth that our game is seeing is staggering and inspiring.

A milestone reached and surpassedin the Splinterlands community and its a dandy. Splinterlands has given over a quarter million dollars in prizes to their tournament players. In face the USD amount given out to date is nearing $300,000 USD. I for one can't wait to see the awarded number reach one million.
