Welcoming a bouncing baby Girl and Helping my friend yuslove with sewing job
Hello Hive.
Little did I know that she was a few months gone already, and today I can tell you that her baby is already 3 weeks old. The blog here, @yuslove, has been inactive for a while as she got near the peak of pregnancy and needed some more rest.
Last weekend, she called me to assist her in completing this outfit she had started making when she was pregnant. I understood why she couldn't complete this outfit before now, and even after having a baby, she needed some more rest and a maternity leave of at least 3 months.
The situation in the country wouldn't allow her to get more rest with her baby at home. She needed to resume work so that she could have some money for baby food and family upkeep.
Upon visiting her, the situation was not far from what I had expected.
Her baby kept crying; she needed to constantly breastfeed, and here is an outfit that needs to be completed. Thank goodness I was obliged to go assist her since I can see that she isn't really strong either and has not fully recovered from labor stress. Some women are often lucky to recover on time; others find it a bit difficult, especially those that experience complications at delivery.
We took turns to either sew or take care of the baby. I did my best at cutting the fabric. And when she wanted to sew some parts based on what she desired, I allowed her to and helped her carry the baby.
In the end, we were able to complete this outfit.
A mixture of an African print fabric and lace material.
Cutting a princess bustier blouse
Here I added some bust part to give fittings to the bust area.
Sewing and finishing.
Creating a design parting at the front and placing the net lace in position.
And the skirt
It's a painful thing that women here can no longer have enough rest even after having a baby. Having called me to come over I was glad that I could assist her to achieve this since I didn't have a sewing project at hand yet.
