A beautiful new morning to us all, I hope that we all had a good night rest. I slept like a baby and was able to get as much relieve from yesterdays farm work stress. We went a about transplanting rice just like we have earlier began this week Today is another day and we are getting set to go to farm again.
At least now that we have had a heavy downpour this week, our farms have all come alive and we are doing all we can to catch up with planting and transplanting of rice so that everything can be done in record time.
Since the beginning of the week we have been alternating the transplanting of our rice and other activities like planting of okro, beans and the others. Since we now needed more hands in the farm to make the work faster like I often say that rice Transplanting takes a whole lot of time compared to planting, I will be taking a few of my teenagers with me to the farm to join us for this process
My baby sister doesn't even know what rice plant looks like, the only one she knows is the rice they eat I
at home. Today they will all be accompanying us to the farm and for their this their school vacation, my babies will have to learn a thing or two about farming.
Alot of people out there also do not know what farming is about or how certain crops look like in the farm or the kind of activities we do before these foods are produced.
Let me share with us the process we use in transplanting rice.
You may want to ask me why I normally work bare footed. In this swamp like this it's safe to wear some protective foot wear, a boot is often advisable but the only but we have at home is a very large size and very much difficult to walk with it, it was bought in my daddy's size and I have been procrastinating a out buying one of my own size. Hopefully our work will speed up and we will get done from this swamp.
