Good morning beloved hive community and friends, I hope that we had the most pleasant and restful night rest. Today is another day to arise and shine and I am up as early as I can. Everyday is a good day to work for what we will eat and I hope that we will not be lacking in the grace and vitality needed daily to live a peaceful life.
For the time being, our lives follows a consistent routine revolving around farm and housechores. We enter the farm during most morning and by the time it is midday we are prepared to headhome unless there are pressing activities to be done and we are running out of time.
One land needs cultivating, another needs planting, yet another plots needs weeding or harvesting and these are the activities we engage in around our crops daily.
Yesterday we were weeding the corn farm and adding some soil to the bottom of each corn
Weed have started catch up on the corn that was barely planted about a month now. For the parts of the farm where some herbicides were applied before planting the corn you will see that the farm is Abit cleaner there. Applying herbicides before planting any crops reducing the chances of weeds coming out and growing as fast as possible to affect or hinder the growth of the plants.
Sometimes our herbicides gets exhausted along the way and where there no funds to buy them we are forced to plant the crops in the soil like that and to now engage in manual weeding at the appropriate time. After several years of farming we have become familiar with Herbicides that are friendly with each crops, if the wrong herbicides are applied to any crops in an inappropriate manner the crops will wither off. Herbicides have been merged selectively for each crops and for this corn that we are weeding the grasses manually we can chose to use selective herbicides.
There are not much work to be done for the week which is why we are engaging in this exercise to save some funds. Manual weeding may be stressful but it will save us of some funds for buying the chemicals, while we await the planting of rice which is to commence soon we decided to engage in this . As many are the farms and crops we plant as many times we engage in this weeding exercise from one farm to another amidst other farm work.
