A very beautiful morning to us all, I hope that we all had a peaceful night rest. It drizzling here this morning again meaning that the sky cannot hold it any more and I just hope that this will not disturb our line up of activities for this day.
Working in the swamp on a daily basis has not been easy hence we have calculated the number to times or days we would be rounding up our activities in the rice field.
We want to get done with transplanting so that we can rest from the experience of the terrible cold that is associated with working in the swamp.
While we have also planned to work in the rice field yesterday there was some slight changes in the event of activities. The distributor, transporter and labourers to assist with the harvest of lettuce came around. They were ready for the exercise hence we abandoned the rice work to join in harvesting lettuce.
The lettuces were now matured and eventhough they can still grow a little more to become larger and larger, it is no longer safe to keep them. Lettuce are very fragile and can get disturbed by excess water.
The veggies are already getting affected. And have to be picghed up immediately.
Harvest begun and every bunch was being picked up and neatly arranged into a sac. With massive harvest such as this, the community around cannot purchase and consume these within a week. The lettuce will be transported to neighbors state and sold far and wide.
Paper packaging like this one is best for the veggies, they will not get spoilt or rotten.
We got back a little tired that I couldn't bring myself to prepare any of the delicacies we often make from this. We have various preparations and delicacies we often make of our lettuce and before harvest is finally over you will get to see some of these. The weekend will just be the best time to show you how we eat our lettuce. I believe that a lot of people will be happy to see some fresh vegetables in the market this week as soon as it gets to their neighborhood.
