Happy new day to us all, I hope that we have had a peaceful night rest and aree excited to see the light of a new day
It's a new morning and I am already up trying to prepare for the day ahead. I cannot measure how much exhausted I feel from the constant daily work load. It is only the transplanting of rice that gets us this tired. We have been growing other crops as the farming season began but I can tell anyone that growing rice is one of the hardest task that one can ever come by. Regardless of how much one feels excited about farming, the stress part is something everyone runs from.
It is easy to plant acres and hectare of land with crops or any other cereals but whenever it comes down to rice it is a slow moving exercise regardless of whatsoever methods you chose to use.
Our rice Transplanting exercise will take about a month or more like I said earlier. We have only a week yet. The work has been revolving around planting of applying herbicides to the portions we work on, clearing the grasses a little, uprooting rice seedlings from the nursery and transplanting in portions into the main field.
Each and every time we eanter the rice field we work on the little portions we can daily and then go home to get some rest. Not many people engage in growing rice in this area where we live besides the farmlands suitable for this is not readily available
It takes about a week for the newly transplanted seedling to adjust to the new environment in the field and this year we are planting only the 3month lifecycle seeds.
It has been a blessing for us since we have planted this 3months lifecycle rice. The pattern of rainfall now does not allow one to grow food products that will take longer periods before producing their food.
If you plant the 6month grains, the rains might cease before the grains mature or disrupt the growth of the plant midweek. Planting quality seeds is one of the vital aspect of any farming activities and it is often advisable to go for improved seeds variety as they are being produced.
