Clashing Harvest, From peanuts to corn to rice, beans then Sorgum
Hello Hive
Clashing Harvest, From peanuts to corn to rice, beans then Sorgum, this is exactly how it is going to happen when we begin harvesting all that we have planted this year.
It's a beautiful Saturday morning here and I hope that you all have had the most wonderful rest. I am able to sleep and rest much better this day because we have been relieved of most of our activities here. Except for the Sorghum farm we are having that needs to be weeded manually, there is not much work to be done now. For today I would be hitting the market later to purchase some herbicides we would be using to spray our rice farms as grasses are already taking over some parts of it
Like the women here will often joke that September is the 9th month for pregnancy and every pregnant woman will put to bed by September, for us in the farm September is truly the 9th month for most crops we plant. It is the month where most crops are heavily pregnant and come October most of the rice we have planted will be ready for harvest. The rice seeds I planted that has a 3year life cycle will be ready for harvest in the month of October, so in this present September month we often say that our rice plants are pregnant.
Those who have equally planted the 6 month life cycle rice will also be harvesting come October, basically all the rice here are pregnant regardless of their life cycle.

It is also good to see that the second session planted corns are also heavily pregnant and looks like harvest will equally fall in October. Second seasons corns are usually planted in the the month of July or very early August, they have also carried their seeds and will be preparing for harvest come next month.
The first season corns that were planted have all been sold at the market and eaten fresh
This is the one that will be sundried and processed into corn flour for our turning meals. October is indeed the month for a commotion of harvest which equally brings us so much joy.
