I had a very nice message waiting on my phone this morning. Or actually it was a video clip from my husband’s sister from Australia. On the video she said “So this just happened!” and showed her very bright and shiny engagement ring with the biggest smile on her face. I'm very happy for her since she hasn’t always had the best of the luck in her relationships and she surely deserves the love and happiness.
Her smile on the video and in the pictures reminded me about the day when I was proposed to. I have always liked fairy floss and my tradition has been to eat one every first May day in the city. That day, in 2014, was quite cold and a bit rainy as well and I was wondering why my boyfriend was so eager to go to the city. He kept asking and making sure that I still want to go and eat that fairy floss. I remember thinking how cute it was that he loved my tradition so much. Haha.
We walked around the city first and then went to buy two giant fairy floss sticks. During our walk he kept talking about our life together, what has happened so far and what would happen later. At that point I started wondering if there was something going on. He seemed a bit nervous as well, or excited, not sure. Finally after ALL THE TALKING.. he wanted us to sit down. The photo above is taken just before that moment. Then he basically said that he would annoy me (oh boy, was he right!) for the rest of my life if I would say yes. And I did.
Here we are. Our journey hasn’t been the easiest and it seems that we are constantly tested but I know that someday things will settle, and we can have more of those pink fairy flossy moments. Meanwhile, we are hanging there.
I hope that life treats my husband's sister and her future husband a touch easier. I wish them all the love in the world.
Hugs, Momone
