June 6, 2022 Nieuwvliet, Zeeland
It’s early June and my wandering mind,
With memories old but still so kind,
Transports me to far away times,
When passion drove me to foreign climes.
A new environment with lots of rain,
and many moons later - it’s still the same.
Unpredictable days with wind then sun,
Or temperatures falling to spoil the fun.
For those clad in flimsy summer wear,
When the heavens shed its nebulous tears,
Or the wind dishevels, they’ll still protest,
That June is blissful and about happiness.
Although there is comfort in the familiar,
Spring and autumn should not feel similar,
Time vanishes dream-like in this life’s game,
Seemingly changing but inevitably staying the same.
