We arrived in the far north of Scotland yesterday.

alt

We are staying about 80 miles south of John O Groats which is the most northern part of Scotland (approximately) in a place called Grannies Helian Hame. On the way here we passed some amazing places.

alt

On route to this part of the country we stopped at this astonishing piece of art.
The Kelpie is a mythical water creature that looks remarkably like a horse!

alt

The light kept changing and it totally changed the way these sculptures looked.

I also post my photos on Google maps which get millions of views. Just goes to show the power of search engines.

Amazing monumental art installation seemingly in the middle of nowhere? Worth a look if you want a break on a long road trip.

The Kelpies is a 30-metre-high horse-head sculptures depicting kelpies, located between Falkirk and Grangemouth, standing next to a new extension to the Forth and Clyde Canal, and near River Carron, in The Helix, a new parkland project built to connect 16 communities in the Falkirk Council Area, Scotland. And now for something completely different and totally unrelated.
Try not to laugh.
