Today I had a full shift at work, and it was one of those days that starts off calmly… but ends chaotically. The truth is, the day started off pretty well. Between shifts, I managed to make some progress with my book, and that always puts me in a good mood. It's like having a little space just for myself amidst the hustle and bustle of the shift. But the end of the day was a different story. A group of young customers arrived, making quite a bit of noise, and the atmosphere became rather tense. Just when I thought all that was left was to close up and be done with it, the point-of-sale system decided to crash. Literally at the worst possible moment. I couldn't check the register properly, and I finished my shift quite stressed and uncomfortable for not having been able to close everything up correctly. It wasn't the best way to end the day, to be honest. Still, I try to focus on the positives: I made progress with my reading and earned a few tips… Sometimes working in customer service is like that; you never know how the day is going to end.

Hoy tuve turno completo en el trabajo y fue uno de esos días que empiezan tranquilos… pero terminan caóticos. La verdad es que el día empezó bastante bien. Entre momentos del trabajo pude avanzar un poco con la lectura de mi libro, y eso siempre me pone de buen ánimo. Es como tener un pequeño espacio solo para mí en medio del ritmo del turno. Pero el final del día fue otra historia. Llegó un grupo de clientes jóvenes haciendo bastante ruido y el ambiente se volvió medio pesado. Cuando ya pensaba que solo faltaba cerrar y listo, el sistema de ventas decidió fallar. Literalmente en el peor momento. No pude revisar la caja como corresponde y terminé el turno bastante estresada e incómoda de no haber podido cerrar todo bien. No fue el mejor cierre de día, la verdad. Igual trato de quedarme con lo bueno: avancé con mi lectura y conseguí algunas propinas... A veces trabajar atendiendo gente es así, nunca sabes cómo va a terminar el día.
