Saw the sunlight today falling on these ivy leaves in the morning at our garden and thought of painting it. I haven't done this type of leaves painting so far coz it needs lot of patience. It takes about 5 layers of green each to be painted after the one below dries, to get it dark. Also the handmade paper I'm using tends to fade off the colours once it dries making it lighter.
Was a good learning experience. Next one will be definitely better.
Watercolor on 440gsm handmade cotton paper. 10x14in. Took more than 2 hrs. Most of the time waiting for paper to dry 🙂
Colours: permanent green light and hookers green from Camelin. Hansa yellow indigo ultramarine mixed up for varius greena a tinge of violet and q. Sienna for the dried leaves
