Today was a special day for all Ferrari Formula One supporters including myself, as it was the day that Scuderia Ferrari lannced its 2018 Challenger the SF-71H!
My first impression when the car was unveiled that that is quite a beautiful looking car for a number of key reasons...
#1 Gone away is the hideous shark fin at the rear end, which was a common eye sore on all cars
#2 Ferrari have done a great job in integrating the controversial 'Halo', designed for driver safety.
The Halo implementation on some of the other cars looks quite odd, but the Ferrari version looks more integrated.
#3 A Ferrari is synonymous with the colour Red and this year is no exception. What is different about this year's car is that for the first time in a long time, the car is predominately Red, largely due to the fact that the Spanish Bank 'Santander' is no longer a key sponsor, hence the red and white colour scheme has been replaced with just Red.
At the start of each Formula One season, there is always renewed optimism among fans like mysef, on whether Ferrari can challenge for the Formula One championship and end the 10 years drought.
I think this could be Ferrari's championship winning year, as there is a saying in F1..."when a car looks good, it usually performs well"...
There is no denying that this years car is exceptionally a good looking car and this view is shared by fans, non-fans and neutrals based on the responses on social media, so this bodes very well for Ferrari.
Looking forward to the season opener in Melbourne next month...Forza Ferrari!
