This small gadget, which is officially presented on March 19, has the size of a grain of salt, but is 86 times more powerful than a computer manufactured in 1990, writes Mashable.
The small computer has hundreds of thousands of transistors, and its manufacture costs very little: only 10 cents.
The tiny computer will be used for blockchain applications: it will follow the transport of goods and will be able to see the attempts of fraud or non-compliance. In addition, it has Artificial Intelligence algorithms and can classify the information received.
Arvind Krishna, research director at IMB, says this is just the beginning. In the next 5 years, an extremely small computer can be inserted into any object or device.
