Tessa Thompson and Jon Bernthal are excellent performers but, I must admit, they are not the only ones who performed well in this show. You are very right sometimes it does feel something is being forced into the flow of the story, and it does add a bitter taste into the minds of the audience. I agree with you that overall this is good show.
