Tbh, I'm 37 in a couple of days and my wife 30. I'm really into the idea of having kids, but we're still just not in a place in time where that's really a sensible thing to be doing. I remember 28 being the exact age I had planned for it too, but here we are lol.

I've come to peace with the idea of never having kids, I suppose. The world just isn't providing us with an environment where it's even a sensible idea for the kids to be raised in. BUT, if we one day decide to go for it pretty soon (biological clock and all), I wouldn't say no. There's some benefits to being older parents as much as there are drawbacks.

For example, my dad and his wife had to take care of their parents getting old for years. By the time they passed away, my dad was hitting 70, too old to enjoy life now he could leave the home more. If I am an older parent instead, I'll die when my kid is old enough for independence, but young enough to have like 40 years of solid life to live without dealing with the burden of my existence lol.

The point I guess I'm trying to make is life doesn't tend to go how we planned and we need usually need to be pretty flexible with our dreams, find the potential benefits of alternatives
