Hah thanks for the NO NSFW warning! Geeze. Dude I think everyone in the west grew up with Dragonball! I had no idea what 'Japan' was, or 'anime' for that matter. Was just a fun cartoon.

I don't watch any of this hentai garbage personally, but I've watched a lot of the bigger anime over the years: FMA, AoT, Made in Abyss, Death Note, Naruto, etc etc.

Overall I think 94% of anime is utter garbage, but these shows more than make up for it by being so timelessly incredible!
