Hello friends, This is
@mmiya from #Bangladesh.
Dear Hive enthusiasts, we often come across various types of insects on the leaves of different plants. Today, I would like to share a scene with you: an insect resting on a taro leaf. This insect is commonly known as a green grasshopper—specifically, a type often referred to as a "paddy grasshopper"—as it is frequently found in rice fields. Since this taro plant is growing right next to a rice field, the insect has settled on one of its leaves. These insects typically move by hopping, and they can leap quite a distance.
These insects are found in various Asian countries, including Bangladesh. They inhabit rice fields, taro patches, forests, and the foliage of various plants, as they feed on leaves. They are green in color, with a dark brown stripe running along the sides of their wings. When we were children, we used to try to catch them, but they would quickly leap away. We would sometimes lightly touch them just to watch them jump—a fascinating sight that we always enjoyed.
