Hello friends, This is
@mmiya from #Bangladesh.
Dear Hive enthusiasts, for the past few days, I have been photographing various types of insects. This has sparked a newfound interest in them; I am learning about different species and truly appreciating their beauty. Today, I would like to share a photo of another lovely little insect. I captured this image in a paddy field along the banks of the Jamuna River, near my home. The insect was resting on a rice leaf, and I managed to take a few shots using my mobile phone.
I didn't know the name of this insect, but after a quick Google search, I discovered it is called an 'Amra beetle' (hog plum beetle). It is a leaf-eating insect that feeds on the foliage of various plants—most notably, the leaves of the Amra (hog plum) tree. It is frequently found on these trees, which is how it earned the name 'Amra beetle.' The insect has a pair of hardened wing covers (elytra) on its back, which display two distinct colors, making the creature look quite beautiful. I hope you enjoy today’s post!
