The bearded iris is a larger flower that tends to stand out when in full bloom. It has 3 petals; half of them droop, and the other 3 either stand upright or are in a straight position. There are some types that can grow as tall as 4 feet at maturity. They usually bloom in April or May and some are known to rebloom in the summer or fall such as these ones which I found during the motnh of August.
