These are all flowers that are still hanging in there at the end of the season. Summer has just passed, and you can see they are starting to wither but still have their colors. There is a bit of a dryness to all of these, one step beyond being lush and in full bloom. The petals are starting to stiffen, and within weeks they will be dried out and gone, a memory of the summer past.
