I followed along as this ant was crawling on a leaf. I wasn't using a traditional macro lens for these; I was using a 35mm lens with extension tubes attached, which allowed the lens to focus much closer. The only catch is that as the focus is all manual and I only had a shallow slice to keep everything sharp, it was the ant that would dictate the composition. I had to literally make sure my lens stayed at a certain distance as I followed the ants' crawl across the leaves.
