I saw this prompt and I had to pause for a second. It's just forcing me to be honest with myself and not just right something nice for it.
So back in January, these were the things I said to myself I'd do this year. One to start a YouTube channel for dogs shorts. Well the truth is, I have actually started this one but I must say I haven't been consistent, but I have uploaded few video shorts on it. My goal is to get it monetized before the year ends, and I need to work towards achieving that.
I also told myself that I will build a proper pet blog site. I got started with pawsgrooming tips site in the blogger free site and I have been able to post few blog posts on it. But my aim is to get a custom domain, upgrade the site to a standard pet site. I haven't achieved that but I have achieved starting the blog site first and have created a Facebook page from which it can drive traffic from too.
Now the two I'm not proud of is web development I haven't started this one yet. Between teaching, and coming back home to manage two content projects, my brain is tired by the time I remember I have a code to learn.
And the saving one? This is the one that's actually humbling me. #500,000 was the target. What I currently have been able to save is #96,000, the gap is still looking at me. Not because I didn't earn anything, the money kept finding somewhere to go. From one expenses to another, I haven't been able to even save half of my target.
If I'm to be honest, my priorities did shift, even without me planning it. Expenses kept eating the money I thought would go into savings.
For the rest of the year, I'm not throwing away the savings goal, even though #96, 000 to #500,000 in six months is a stretch. I want to close that gap as much as I can. And web development even 20 minutes a day is better than the zero I've been doing.
Half the year is gone, but the year isn't finished. Time to stop being nice to myself about it and actually move.
