A few days ago I read this sentence: Old age is longer than youth and I kept thinking...
Who sets the age for old age? Who says I'm old?
As some of you know, I live in Venezuela, here by culture a person over 40 years old is often called old, and although that has been changing, in the poorest areas they continue to see it that way. I lived for 30 years in the south of the city, the most common is to see women under 20 who are already mothers, including pregnant teenagers, there are 30-year-old women who are even grandmothers, under this glass of course it is easy to classify a 40-year-old as an old woman.
But now that I am over 40 I can say that I do not feel old, far from it, I feel (and I like to think that it is so) that I am in the middle of my life, that I have talent to show. Instead of thinking that my life is ending, it is now that I feel more awake, more alive.
Obviously, I don't have the same energy as 20 years ago, but it's better not to go so fast, I like to enjoy myself more than to run. It is better to savor than to simply swallow.
But it keeps going around in my head: Old age is longer than youth, when can I consider myself old?
Here, women are entitled to an old-age pension from the age of 55, while men acquire this right from the age of 60. Will I proclaim myself old at 55? I don't know, when I get there I'll tell you. LOL!
The point is that today I am older than yesterday and younger than tomorrow, not a day will pass without my body getting older, and I am aware of that.
Hasn't it happened to you that, at this stage of your lives, the days go by faster than you remember?
I don't know if it's because my children are young, but I feel that time flies, it seems to me that it was a few days ago that my prince was born when really more than 3 years have passed, almost 4. And I see future years around the corner.
So I think, if I am halfway through my life, and halfway faster, then I can only enjoy my dreams as I live them, stay awake to the wonder of seeing my children grow, thank God for hearing my prayers, and keep dreaming and keep working for my dreams, as an inveterate dreamer I never stop dreaming.
Today I did my first power up, it wasn't much, it was only 10 Hive, but it's a small achievement in the growth of my account.
I am about 10 and a half months old, and I have seen other accounts with a similar time grow faster, but I go at my pace, and although I wish it were faster, I accept that it is at the rate that I can go at the moment, so I celebrate with you my small achievement.
