I came across the phrase ‘The first new apprentice in 60 years is 19’ and decided to check out the YouTube video. It turned out to be a feature about how traditional craftsmanship is being passed down to a 19-year-old apprentice. Reflecting on my 19-year-old self, I recall dreaming big while studying diligently. Apparently, you can even buy his works online, so I thought I’d give one a try. With that sickle, I might just get motivated to work harder on my gardening.

「６０年ぶりの新弟子は１９才」とフレーズが目にはいって、YouTubeを見て見ることにした。すると、伝統の技術が１９才の新弟子に受け継がれていく姿を取材した内容だった。私自身の１９才の時を考えると、夢を胸に抱いて勉強していたころを思い出す。そして、彼が作る作品をネットでも購入できるらしく、１使ってみようかなぁなんて思う。その鎌を使ってガーデニング頑張ってみようかなぁなんて思います。
