Like every other Sunday, I woke up with a happy spirit and gladness in my heart. For it was another time to fellowship with God in his house. Not certain of what to wear which is unlike me, I made up my mind to attend second service to avoid me going to late to church this morning.
So I decided to do few chores in the house before I left for church. As at 10:20am,i was all done and set to go to church. Second service starts by 10:30am. It takes me exactly 5 minutes to get to my destination. Ermmm, I'm not a worker yet because I'm still a new member in this branch. Besides this is Church Ministry Fellowship . I'm not very acquainted with the way things work in this Ministry since I was coming for a Campus Ministry Fellowship.
I left for church with an expectation in my heart, I needed an answer to a situation.
I got to church and met couple of ladies outside and one of them said
"You that usually come early"... I looked at her, trying to understand why she said that.Then I asked
"Am I late? Is there no second service? ".
A chubby good looking lady replied saying
"No, it's just one service because today is cell ministry day"..
So apparently, I didn't know this. Well I blamed myself for this because I didn't have the contact of any of them to call and keep up on the activities in church considering the fact that I only go to church once in a week now. Sometimes these announcements are made on Wednesday service.
I brushed the regret of and stepped into church, fortunately the Pastor was about to take the sermon. With rapt attention, I listened to every single word that proceeded from the mouth of the man of God. Though I missed the worship session which is usually my favorite part of the service yet i enjoyed and received all that the Man of God blessed us with during the sermon.
I was glad I didn't miss this, yes I almost didn't want to go to church earlier,had a second thought later.
Just before service ended, I quickly approached a sister who has been quite friendly with me ever since I started worshipping in this branch. I requested for her number which she gladly gave to me. I didn't want to repeat the same mistake again.
Refreshments were offered to all those who has been away for about 3 weeks or more and had returned back and of course I was part of them.
Time wouldn't permit me to let you guys in on what happened afterwards. It's been a long day though and tomorrow is beginning of another work day and I have to prepare for the week.
