Today's doodle - Opuntia macrocentra, or purple prickly pear.
The finished piece (:
01 - I used my Fineline Resist masking fluid to preserve the white of my paper
02 - Initial washes of color.
03 - Sketching in the buds
04 - A pop of complementary color in the buds and fineliner to finish.
Sketched on a 6" x 6" piece of Canson watercolor paper. Painted with Mijello Mission Gold Watercolor. After allowing the paint to dry completely, I added detail with a Copic Multiliner 0.05mm
