Mild Mentally Challenged Children (IQ50-70)
After taking part in the training program of basic life skill for a certain period, five of the basic daily self-care skills as mentioned above can be independently accomplished.
Provide them with daily living care and learning opportunities in special school so that the children can be trained on the job skills and competency in the said special school to gain employment opportunity.
Moderate Mentally Challenged Children (IQ35-50)
Moderate mentally challenged children need considerable supports in order to accomplish the five basic daily self-care skills fully as they only able to accomplish one or two skills out of five.
02 Provide them with daily living care and arrange one-to-one living skill training with the physical therapist to ensure their full independence in accomplishing the five basic daily self-care skills so that they are able to be trained on the job skills and competency in special school to gain employment opportunity in the future.
Severe Mentally Challenged Children (IQ20-35)
02 Classified as those who need intensive care. In line with the regulations of the Department of Social Welfare Malaysia (JKMM), a special care attendant can only has a maximum of four severe mentally challenged children under his or her care.
02 Unable to accomplish the five basic daily self-care skills entirely.
02 Provide them with daily living care and arrange physical therapy treatment by physical therapist to prevent from muscular dystrophy due to long term inactiveness.
The Origin and Vision of IQ70 +
“IQ70 +, Home Sweet Home.”Intellectual disabilities or mentally challenged is characterized by significant impairment of cognitive and intelligence functions of daily life and deficit in skills such as reading time, managing finance, reading, calculations and etc. Generally, the Intelligence Quotient (IQ) of a healthy person is about 100. Yet, the IQ of mentally challenged group is usually below 70 as caused by congenital disorder or acquired disorder developed through various psychology and growth conditions.
It is not easy to attain an environment completed with professional full-time personal care assistance, sound medical system and safe-to-live environment for the mentally challenged group as they need personalized treatment in accordance with their disability level respectively. As an embracement of love and responsibility towards mentally challenged children, Malaysia Association for the Welfare of Mentally Challenged Children has established since 27 March 2012 (registered on 4 January 2011) in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. The association provides an all-day comprehensive humane assistance for children with mental disabilities and endeavors in building a safe and open living space to offer the children the superior conditions for healthy psychological growth.
The quote, “IQ70 +”, does not serve the purpose to tag mental disabilities. The “+” sign reflected our mission in leading the children to move forward by continue to seek more breakthroughs and hopes within the limited intelligence. It is a bridge built not only to break the gap between social responsibility and the public society, but to lead mentally challenged children to embrace and back to the society. IQ70 + can also be recognized as a home-liked shelter which is filled with laughter and loves for the Angels!
Mentally Challenge 智障类别
轻度智能障碍儿童 (IQ50-70)
在经过一段时间的生活技能训练之下，五项生活基本自理项目中，能全数独立胜任。
提供日常的生活照料及安排特殊学校的学习机会，让他们在特殊学校能够接受工作技能上的培训。中度智能障碍儿童 (IQ35-50)
五项生活基本自理项目中，只能够完成其中的一至二项，无法独立完全胜任。
提供日常生活照料以及安排职能物理治疗师进行一对一的生活技能训练，确保他们一天能够独立完成五项生活基本自理，让他们的未来也能够在特殊学校接受工作技能上的培训。重度智能障碍儿童 (IQ20-35)
属于特别看护，根据福利部准则，每四位重度儿童就必须凭请一位特别看护人员照顾。
五项生活基本自理项目中，完全无法胜任。
提供日常生活照料以及安排物理治疗师给予治疗，确保不会因为长期躺着而导致肌肉萎缩。
IQ70+ 的缘起与宗旨
”IQ70+，属于天使的快乐之家。“
智能障碍（或称智力障碍，简称智障）是指在日常生活中一般逻辑思考，像是时间、金钱、阅读、计算等需要使用智力思考的行为之障碍。一般而言，正常人的智力商数（IQ）都在100左右。但由于先天遗传或后天的心理与成长条件等因素，智障人士的智商都普遍低于70。由于智障人士按程度不同而需要不同的护理，全时间的专业看护，健全的医疗体系，安全的生活环境并非易事。本着对智障儿童的爱心与负担，马来西亚建安智障儿童家福协会成立於2012年3月27日（注册于2011年1月4日），位于雪兰莪州八打灵再也的协会为智障儿童提供全面全日全人性的服务，竭力建造一个安全且开放的生活空间，提供儿童身心灵健康成长的优渥条件。
IQ70+的含义并非标签智障这回事；其中“+”更体现了我们在有限的智能里寻求突破与希望，带领儿童不断迈进的使命；建筑一道桥梁，不只打破了公益与社会大众的隔阂，也引领智障儿童走出封闭的内心世界。IQ70+也可被解读为一个充满欢乐笑声，充满爱的天使之”家“哦！
