Surely Lake is another popular tourist destination in Mount Abu, where many tourists and locals come. It is located at an altitude of 1200 meters and is the only artificial lake in India. It is a beautiful and quiet place with picturesque mountains in the background. The name of this lake lies on the basis of a legend, according to which the diggers of this lake were digged by their Gods, so that they can protect themselves from the evil monsters. According to another legend, this lake was excavated by Rasia Balam, a sculptor of the Dilwara Jain temple in one night.
Tourists can also visit Gandhi Ghat which was built in the memory of Mahatma Gandhi. On 12 February 1948 his ashes were immersed in this lake.
There are several rocky mountains near this lake that provide tourists and lovers of adventure activities with opportunities for rock climbing. Apart from this you can also boating (boat ride) here and enjoy the calm and steady water of this lake.
