Ok, so I didn't want to waste any time on writing a post on this subject. But then my friend 
Years ago, when I was living in Las Vegas, the one thing that I loved about the place was that celebrities could walk among the regular folk and no one would ever bother them.
I've seen Mickey Rourke play the slots there, and no one would bat an eyelid.
Ben Affleck hung around the Bellagio, not even a paparazzi in sight!
Maybe it was because most people there were too self-absorbed, or so busy trying to hit the jackpot that they just didn't care about any celeb in their midst.
The only time I've seen people get a little more excited was when Pamela Anderson came to talk about Peta, and landed at Planet Hollywood for an autograph session. But even then it wasn't anything crazy and she didn't need an army to keep her safe...She was very nice, by the way!
I nearly got to hang out with David Spade if my friend wouldn't have ruined it for us...How cool is that? I mean, in retrospect, even just being able to say that your friend ruined it with David Spade is pretty darn cool. Although I wish he wouldn't have... Long story. Something for another time. But either way, try that in LA. It just wouldn't happen without the paparazzi hunting you down...
So, when I lived in Las Vegas, for a while I was working as an OPC for a timeshare company, as well as selling tours.
We worked mainly outdoors, and our office was located near the Budget car rental across the street from the Treasure Island, on the corner of Sands Avenue.
One day we heard a little commotion from the street where we were, and sure enough: it was Will Smith, Jada, and a handful of other people walking in our direction from Sands.
No one really bothered with them, some were taking pictures. The couple that had been standing with us to sort a tour they were trying to book had two young kids. Around 8 and 9. The two kids cheered and asked their parents if they could go to Will and ask for an autograph. The dad said: 'Sure, why not.' They ran, overjoyed. The mother then explained that they were Will's biggest fans, that they watched all his movies, and knew everything about him. So for them to meet him here in the street was beyond amazing of course. I was happy for them. How exciting for a kid to meet their celebrity hero!
Well, the excitement was short-lived. The kids ran up to Will & his entourage with big smiles on their faces. Those smiles were wiped off of them within seconds. Even before they could ask for the autograph, Will snapped at them: 'Nah, go back to your parents' while he shoved them into the direction from which they came. The kids were shocked, to say the least, and stood there for a moment without moving. They obviously weren't moving fast enough for your highness Smith, so this time it was one of his 'guys' (bodyguard?) who shoved them forward. The pair then ran to their parents and cried. There were numerous people who'd seen it, and numerous who were stunned to see such a thing coming from someone like him.
I remember the father saying he'd 'sort it' but the mother stopped him, saying it wasn't worth it.
What an absolute ass he turned out to be. I know that celebrities are under lots of pressure, and never get any time without being harassed by someone. But he is a star admired by many, and at the time, especially young people and kids. He should be able to handle the attention. Or at least, handle it in a different manner. For years, I felt sorry for his kids because in that moment, it didn't really seem like he even liked kids. I can be mistaken, of course but that's the way I saw it then. That's what he showed.
He didn't show himself as the nice and lovable guy we all knew from the Fresh Prince. He was an ass.
Right away I knew it was fake. Yeah, it looked and sounded real but hey, that's what they DO in Hollywood. It would be pretty bad if two major actors couldn't pull off something, and make everyone that sees it believe it...
When Chris made the GI Jane joke, Will laughed, and Jada rolled her eyes. That could have been fake, or they changed the timing with the video.
Then the slap. Did Chris brace for it? Did Will give him a fake smack? I don't know. All I know is that my very core told me it was all an act. A distraction. But why? For what?

The whole Oscar Will slapping Chris thing over the 'insult' (read: joke) was as fake as could be. A distraction. Meanwhile giving attention to alopecia. For which Pfizer happens to have a medicine that's not far from production phase.
Now, this would be a whole lot of coincidences wrapped up into one if one and one wasn't two.
The conclusion of it all?
Christ and Will are great actors.
