New projects I have on the go include a 1978 Montesa cota 348 Malcom Rathmell special edition.
The seat cover arrived today, waiting for other parts like fork seals, new mudguards, rear brake shoes etc. THis is how the bike sits as of yesterday.
The blue bike you see on the left is another I am restoring, it is a Yamaha tzr 125 SP, it is one of 500 made, it was only made so Yamaha could meet regulations of production vehicles for it to be allowed to race, minimum was 500 units, bike is 1992, and only the fuel tank left to paint this week.
Another I am doing is along similar lines, 1 Aprilia af1 125 SP from the same year, they made 1800 of them, for the same reasons. It needed a lot less work than the Yamaha too. I would hazard a guess based on the fact I know people who own 2 engines, or 3 of the Yam, that there are less than 100 complete bikes left, and the Aprilia? Around 300 max. Aprilia below the Yamaha.
Another build I am doing is a 1996 KTM gs 300. Very difficult to find parts for though.
Then there are two Yamaha rd's I am doing, one a 125 the other a 250, both in the same colour as the parts I painted last week - below.
I have a barn full of others to do, 2x rd 80 lc, Kawasaki KE 125, not far off finished that one. And way too many to list here.
I was suing my pension company for 6 months or more, and had a lump sum last month for half of it from the financial services compensation scheme, the case is ongoing for the other half plus interest that would have accrued had I left it with my stock market based private pension.
As long as I do not go crazy and start buying super cars, I have enough to last me the rest of my life without needing to work for someone else, when the other half lands I may be tempted then lol.
All the bikes featured are my own as well as the pictures.
Wishing anyone that reads this a superb sunny day ahead.
