Splinterlands is one of the most popular and highly competitive card games among blockchain games. The final moments of each season in the game are always very exciting and challenging for gamers. After a long period of hard work, proper strategy, and multiple battle wins, I was finally able to reach the Modern Gold II League at the very end of the season. As a regular player, such an achievement just before the end of the season is really very happy and satisfying.
Pushing the ranks in the Splinterlands game is not an easy matter at all. Especially in the Modern format, where you have to deal with new and skilled opponents all the time, every move has to be made very thoughtfully. Maintaining the ranking and moving up one step just before the end of the season was quite a struggle. But when the message "UNLOCKED MODERN GOLD II" appeared on the screen, I instantly forgot all the troubles of the entire season. The notification on the screen clearly mentioned that I needed to stake around 37,000 to 58,900 SPS to get the 10x reward multiplier at this Gold 2 level. However, the special honor and attractive reward boxes unlocked with this claim are really nice.
Immediately after passing the league, I got a great opportunity to open the much-desired 'Loot Chests'. As a gift for successfully advancing to the Gold 2 league, I got a total of 13 chests. Out of which 8 were Bronze/Standard chests and 5 were the special blue Major reward chests. Using the right Potions while opening reward chests is a very important strategy in the game. I activated Legendary Potion to increase my chances of getting good cards and Alchemy Potion to increase the drop rate of Gold Foil cards. I had 104 Legendary and 60 Alchemy Potions in my account, from which 13 Potion Charges were used for the required 13 chests.
After confirming the potions, the real excitement began, i.e. revealing all the boxes one by one. After opening the chests, I was able to claim some very nice and useful cards and in-game rewards. Among the cards revealed were the powerful 3-mana Fire elemental 'Magmaforged', multiple 'Thornmaw Berserkers', 'Cullborn Revenants' and a great rare card 'Pixie-Knife Hurler'. In addition, among the cards revealed later, there was 'Oshannus Unmade' and the highly effective Dark/Water type rare card 'Gravebrand Warlock'. These cards of different mana and elements will make my deck much stronger in the upcoming season's battles.
Not only common or rare cards, I also received some very valuable in-game resources from the reward chests. Which included 'Token Entry' (1 and 5 entry tickets) to participate in the official tournament, 39 Merits to purchase various necessary guild items from the guild shop, and an additional Alchemy Potion Charge. All in all, this last-minute achievement of this season and the chest rewards received were much better than I expected.
Reaching the Modern Gold 2 League in Splinterlands will be one of the most memorable moments in my gaming journey. I am already mentally preparing myself to perform better next season and move up to a higher league (like Gold 1 or Diamond). My main goal now is to gain new experience from each battle and further enrich my card collection and strategy.
