MI SEGUNDA VEZ

Hola.

MY SECOND TIME

Hi. This writing was pending since the first publication, and it is about my second chance as a mother, the second time I brought another baby into the world. I have to say that this time it was totally different from the first time, in everything!!!!

Almost 7 years passed before the idea of having a second child arrived, although this time we both asked for it to be a female. What happiness to see that the test had been positive!!! and we were happier to know that the embryo clung tightly to my belly, with just a few weeks of gestation, once, without knowing my condition, and for academic and adventure reasons, we climbed to a place called "Mundo Nuevo", Anzoategui state, at 2500 m altitude, very cold, and with very difficult access roads, to which we arrived in a Jeep Rustic, uncomfortable and unsuitable for a pregnant woman.

Mi Prueba de embarazo con resultado positivo
My Positive pregnancy test.

Until that day, I had not had any pregnancy symptoms. That's when the good part started: nausea, vomiting, nausea, vomiting, which did not go away with anything, and was aggravated when my husband prepared his lunch and the onion burned; what a pity! Although he always prepared food for me (and I thank him for it), I don't forget that he only knew how to make chicken with pasta with a lot of love, which took away my hunger 😂.

Meanwhile, my little boy was prepared by us to love his brother or sister, and to continue to feel loved by his family. The happiness was complete when we knew that it was obviously a girl, especially the happiness of his father, because he wanted to give this gift to his mother, who could only enjoy 3 boys. At the same time, we decided on a name; after so much searching and in honor of my mother, we decided to name her after her.

DELIVERY OR CESAREAN?

This decision seems to be a difficult one, but one way or the other, it depends on what God has in store. I wanted natural childbirth again, but the decision not to have any more children led us to a cesarean section. I did not enjoy the first delivery, it was traumatic, but the experience and the current condition told me that this time, I could give birth easily. Giving birth is an act of sacrifice for another, whose retribution is the satisfaction of having given way to a new life that now depends on you. Biologically speaking, it is a strong process because of the contractions and pains you have at the moment, but it is much better once you already have it in your arms, besides the freedom to take care of it.

THE AWAITED DAY

Certainly that day was very special. After so much planning for her birth, God decided to send her early. The day before her arrival, I started painting the room, which widened my hips. "Absolute rest," the doctor decided. But obviously, leaving the consultation, I went first to the hairdresser to beautify myself for the big moment 😃. In the evening my "water broke", according to my mother-in-law, and the emergency came up. Everyone was so excited, they took me to the clinic.

IS HERE TO STAY

I remember my little girl was red, big and brave. She looked like my mother. Later, when I saw the pictures, I learned that her paternal grandmother had the opportunity to be the first one to hold her, and it was almost the only opportunity, because a few days later she got sick and sadly passed away 7 months later.

One of my regrets is that I did not have the maturity to play my role as a mother this time, and make time for their real care, as I worked morning and evening, and left them with my mother and older siblings, who took care of them as their own. I gave more importance to my responsibility at work. Practically, I did not enjoy those little moments in their growing up: the first word, their first steps, their games, which will not come back.

TO EACH HIS OWN

My two sons are my greatest treasure, and I love the originality in each of them. He, older brother, intelligent, kind, honest, very patient and tolerant, although sometimes careless. She, younger sister, with the same ethical principles, but detail oriented, smart, observant and independent. She loves her brother and cares for him like a daughter for her father/son. Because of the pandemic, she misses having a group of school friends, now high school, which she has not yet been able to join because of Covid 19.

WHAT I LEARNED

I want to end by telling you that having children is a pleasure that sometimes we do not appreciate as it should be. It must be accompanied by commitment, responsibility, love, honesty and discipline, without differences (even if you identify with one of them), with independence and ready to learn together with them.
