La Casa Fuerte/ The Strong House

La Casa Fuerte, es un monumento Histórico Nacional de Venezuela. Está ubicado en la ciudad de Barcelona, Estado Anzoátegui. Fue creado el 6 de abril de 1647, en sus inicios funcionaba un convento, donde daban clases de latín. Años más tarde funciono el primer hospital de Barcelona, y posteriormente el 31 de diciembre de 1816, se convierte en la Casa Fuerte por el Libertador Simón Bolívar cuando lo convierte en su Cuartel General, para ese entonces era considerada como una importante estructura defensiva durante la guerra de independencia. Estas ruinas realmente muestran todo lo que sucedió en este lugar para ese entonces. Los diferentes gobiernos nunca se ocuparon por su reconstrucción.
