Development

Core development statistics since last week:
– Files modified: 266
– New insertions (+): 7,270
– New deletions (-): 4,563
Total since the release of 1.3.6cg: 103,887 insertions (+), 143,935 deletions (-).

The PoC Consortium developers are working harder than ever to be able to release the 2.0.0 wallet in time. This version should be considerably more stable and reliable than every other versions before it – this is the strong foundation that we need before expanding with the Dymaxion and other features described in the white paper.
2.0.0 is going to be released “within a week”, according to rico666. We are getting there!
As you can see in GitHub, wallet development activity is virtually twice the one of last week. We are getting closer everyday to the symbolic 1000th comit (currently 946 commits, at the time of this article).
We now exceed 10% coverage for unit tests.
Bonus! Current situation in the development channels:

But as we all know the Millennium Falcon did finally fly.

The amount of people supporting the Dymaxion by running a full 1.3.6cg node is steadily increasing: over 78% of nodes are using this version! See this infographic by Bombtrack for more details. The community is clearly voicing its opinion – however we need to be as close to a consensus as possible so don’t forget do update your wallet if you have not already. Follow this tutorial to learn how to run a full node.
The PoC Consortium updated CG_Obup, its optimized Unix plotter. It now has a “resume” feature.

Websites

Last week I announced that the tutorial section on burst-coin.org was going to be overhauled soon. The new documentation is now almost ready! It will consist of a brand new platform dedicated to Burst tutorials and walkthroughs, allowing the community to contribute directly and maintain it as the go-to place for beginners.
Burst has been added to vaulty.io, a website that allows to “accept any cryptocurrency for your website, blog, or for general personal use with just one link free of charge”.

Other

Burst is appearing on the Weiss Cryptocurrency ratings with a C mark. While it is a good news to see Burst on that list, please remember that such ratings always need to be considered with a grain of salt.
Linus Tech Tips mentioned Burst in a recent video (24:25). Does it mean we can expect a future video dedicated to Burst mining? Anyway, this goes to show how Burst is actually getting recognized.

Andrew Scott published another great Medium article titled “Burst — Part 4: Network Analysis” and reposted by Hackernoon. It presents a high-quality factual analysis of the Burst network – a must read for every serious investor!
MrPilotMan added a plotting time benchmark table on his EcoMine website, comparing the plotting speed of multiple CPUs and GPUs.
Let’s try to get listed to the Cobinhood exchange! Please upvote and comment this post to show your support.

Conclusion

Another week of intensive development is ending. In today’s final words I would like to remind the Burst community of the importance every single one of its members has in making our coin a truly global transaction system. While it is uplifting to see a good amount of Burst supporters putting in efforts daily, I think many people still don’t realize the impact they can have individually, be it with simple word-of-mouth. The community is our greatest asset – I believe the fact that Burst was released without ICO or premine to be a great strengh. Let’s take advantage of it!
