With the launch of Snaps, MetaMask is breaking free from this ecosystem (known as EVM).

Now the wallet supports Bitcoin, StarkNet, Solana, Aptos, Cosmos, Tezos and many other networks. It appears that MetaMask is no longer just a wallet – it's an evolving ecosystem.

Snaps are plugins that expand the wallet's capabilities, allowing you to add almost anything to MetaMask. Presumably this is a possible introduction of the Metamask token
