It may happen so that the time when you feel tiny or depleted from the hustle of the daily life becomes the perfect occasion for watching at the sky. It does not care about your minor problems, just flows and transforms, becoming home for the wonderful creatures knowing how to be really free.
Those photos that I have taken on a cold and windy day bring such feelings of freedom. It was the time when the clouds flew rapidly above the horizon line, filling the atmosphere with the special energy that makes me observe everything attentively.
In one of my walks I stopped under the shade of an enormous and ancient tree that had already been stripped of all its leaves due to the winter weather conditions. Against the white and gray sky, its bare branches became an image of a great, delicate hand touching the clouds.
Right in this moment, a black bird - crow - flew past the tree and its huge wings opened in the cold air while the bird flew smoothly and quietly. I am extremely glad that I managed to take the photo of such a moment that occurred accidentally. It seemed to me that even when we feel bare or cold like a winter tree, there is still a quiet beauty around us.
Next, I decided to gaze higher up into the vast and wide-open space above and saw another wonderful thing that made my heart fill with awe. I could see the big flock of white birds that flew very high above in the sky, moving together along this impressive scene of nature.
In the second photograph, you can see how the little birds are spread out in different directions like little shining stars among the dark gray and heavy clouds in the sky. While there were some parts of the sky that were dark due to rain clouds, some parts were brightened by a little blue light. However, thanks to their white colors, the bodies of the birds reflected the sunlight like tiny pieces of paper carried by the wind. It was so peaceful to see the way they moved together so calmly and without any hurry and hesitation.
I have chosen these photographs because I think that they show me from inside what was going on in my head that day. At some points in life, I may seem to be that single bird flying close to the branches of my life and trying to find my own way.
But I feel a deep desire to just fly away with the wind, like those distant white birds, traveling to new and quiet places where the horizon has no end. These photos are my small escape, a beautiful memory of a day when the sky taught me to breathe and look at the bigger picture.
