Wednesday came so quickly again. I have the feeling that the weekend just finished and we are again in the middle of the week. The weekend was still good for walks as the weather could allow it, but from Monday the circumstances for a walk were not so good. The Celia Storm hit Spain, which brought a lot of orange and yellow coloured sand from the Sahara. You can imagine, the whole sky on Monday afternoon looked very eerie, orange coloured. We didn't receive a lot of rain, but those few raindrops were enough to have a newly designed car: Blue with orange dots on it :D I forgot to take any photos, but if you want check out here how we saw the daylight on Monday. I am wondering, did the other countries in Europe receive the same sandy storm?
It is still very windy and the sea is angry, but the Sahara sand is away now. However, this walk happened before these weather conditions happened, the sun was still shining on the blue sky. I visited the abandoned quarry we have in our town, actually, it is on the side of the hill that surrounds the town. The view from that place is nice, you see it in the first photo. It is a place that was used for the extraction of rocks. After it was abandoned, it was transformed into a picnic area, but a special one. You can feel the zen spirit, and we will see why. Let us follow these small feet first:
This small recreational area has been created in the area of the Serra Gelada Natural Park. In the same Natural Park where I usually walk to the lighthouse. It has some picnic tables and a small playground for children. There is a via ferrata, which is 30 metres tall, equipped with fixed ladders and cables. It is accessible for climbers, however, I will just skip that activity. Two feet on the floor, that is my area. What was more interesting for me were those small walls to make layers, to protect the soil from erosion. On top of them, we can see that someone had fun and made a lot of different "decorations". Well, they will be our company today!
First of all, I would like to introduce you to this butterfly. It is cute, but I can not imagine how it would fly...It would be a bit heavy flight.
One black scorpion is sunbathing on a rock. Maybe it felt the positive vibes of this zen place.
One jellyfish. She's beautiful here. Have you ever met a real jellyfish in the sea? I did, although I have to admit not many times. They are most often here in the autumn when the water is still warm.
I also saw one happy crab. Celebrating something? It can't be that he's trying to scare me, right?
And we come to an animal that I'm not sure what it is. Maybe it's a peacock? With large gorgeous feathers. What do you think?
And finally, we are arriving at the point to see why I called this place ZEN :))
The inscription says Vive zen (English: live zen). That is a good recommendation by those who made these pebble decorations. Maybe we just have to listen to this and change some things in our perception. But, whatever our lifestyle is, peace shuold not lack in our thoughts.
I have to admit, I am not doing yoga. My niece does, she likes it and for years she is attending yoga lessons. She is doing it at home too, but then the dog she has is trying to help her. It always finishes with laughter and not being able to concentrate :))
Many other of these can be found there. Too many, so I selected among them and made a small collage of love, lizard, fish skeleton and a foot ( maybe of a bear). Does this combination has a meaning? I am not really sure, I just put them together randomly :D
The Guardian of this recreational area is here to greet you and thank you for taking this walk in this abandoned quarry. For sure, it now serves other purposes and not the one why it was created some long time ago. Climbing, walking, or just being here, observing the decoration on top of the small walls.
