How I understand, in my native language, is that someone is a twinkle in someone's eyes, giving a special place for that person, especially children. We also use something like "you are my sunshine" or "twinkle of the star" in my eyes... My grandmas had many sayings... Oh, this one is funny and seems like a contradiction haha, "I would eat your heart" Hahahaha, but means the same, saying to a child how much you love it. I tried to find a similar phrase in English, but it means the opposite...
