After winning 3-0 against the Oilers at home, the Wild did their part. But technically they hadn't mathematically clinched. A point that Bruce Boudreau made so eloquently:
“I don’t know how all this math works out. I just wake up in the morning and just hope to see an ‘x’ by the name.”
Well Bruce woke up and the Wild had that x next to their name after the Colorado Avalanche lost to the Kings in Los Angeles, 3-1.
The Wild have a game in hand on the Avs and that loss means they are now out of reach.
