That is interesting indeed. I see China is the second highest on the list and Germany surprisingly low. Back in the late 80s early 90s when I visited family and friends in Germany I recall how much higher the standard of living for many was, but they all rented. They were very nice rentals for the most part, except for my great aunt who lived in relative poverty. Only the really wealthy in comparison to them had their own homes. I would compare our standard of living to my great aunt's, yet we were still living in our own homes.
