I think we're getting a new generation of doctors in who are starting to question how things have been heading and it's needed before we completely lose trust in all allopathic medicine. Blood pressure medication and statins are way overprescribed and basically a cash generator for the pharmaceutical companies once you're on them.
Most chronic illness is rooted in diet and lifestyle, so if you can make changes there then you may not even need medication. I'd much rather turn to supplements and herbs for most things where possible, but I do wish we had more functional doctors who are knowledgeable in both pathways and will know when allopathic medicine is actually required.
