Have you found that some children mix in different learning styles? I've only recently stated to learn more about how children display their preferred way of learning and my girls are pretty much adults now, but as I think back I find it hard to put my finger on which particular learning style each one had. I believe my eldest is more auditory, although she now claims she has an auditory processing disorder. However, when her brain is struggling to take in any more information through reading it helps for her to have it read out. Music also helps her to focus.
My youngest seems to exhibit some of all of the above traits and depending on her frame of mind at the time, different approaches work best. She would always be active, and some things I found better to teach her using physical methods, so maybe she is more kinesthetic. However, she also focuses better with music at times and prefers pictures to writing, in order to learn.
