I was recently listening to Tristan Harris talking about his concerns with AI. In his opinion the BEST case scenario is AI taking over all the work and no people actually being able to purchase what is being made. A lot of simulations done with them leads him to believe that best case is actually unlikely. Perhaps AI will beat us to breaking the system, it merely remains to be seen just how.
