With summer on the horizon in the northern hemisphere and the garden journal challenge under way this last week, we are practically bathing in glorious gardening posts! Many have already been highlighted in @riverflows' wrap up, so I'll try to just round up some of the other delights out there. And speaking of delights, one of the first posts I had the pleasure of coming across was @kaliphae's lovely account of setting up the a beehive! look at just how gorgeous it turned out:
The next thing to catch my attention was a word I'd never heard before in the title of @cahlen's post where he shows us how watering with an acequia works. In this video he gives a brief explanation of this watering system, explaining some of the upkeep needed and if you're interested in a more detailed video he directs you on how to find one on his site.
Putting me to shame with planning ahead and lots of planting tips is @creativetruth, who walks us through their little tomato and pepper garden. I'm realising now just how many mistakes I've made with tomato plants over the years and I've learnt a bit more on what happens with pepper/capsicum plants over winter and why they might struggle with their growth come spring, if they survive.
I realise @buckaroobaby has already had a bit of fame in Riverflow's Garden Journal wrap up, but I have to chuckle at how she leads us in with her teasing title in her most recent post where she's pairing fresh pomegranate juice with garlic and olives? Welcome to a story of what's happening in a late autumn garden in the southern hemisphere.
Which brings us to our final highlight from @ligayagardener who helps us with identifying another autumn harvest, saffron milk caps, a popular, edible fungus which is around at this time of the year.
