I do think that these blockchain ecosystems are the future: Cosmos, Polkadot, Avalanche, Fantom. It would be great if there was a complete list to see the extent of the competition.

It's possible that the bridges between other blockchains become good enough that everything is connected and the ecosystem becomes less of a factor. But there could still be issues with congestion on a single blockchain.

The idea of having your own blockchain for your project, which you can tailor to your own needs but with the support of an ecosystem doing all the heavy lifting for structural development, is very appealing.
