The <a href="https://somee.social/search/hashtag/PurpleConeflower">#PurpleConeflower</a> or <a href="https://somee.social/search/hashtag/EchinaceaPurpureaMoench">#EchinaceaPurpureaMoench</a> is a popular plant for its immune boosting, anti-inflammatory and wound healing properties. All parts of this plants are edible, but only the flower petals are palatable though, a bit bitter. It's also loaded with antioxidants and although it's been used since the dawn of time to treat many common ailments, there's very little scientific literature to back it up. <br /> <br /> It's definitely one plant you'll want to add to your memory banks, because it treats very common injuries and infections we all get. This includes everything from minor cuts to bug bites, to urinary tract infections to the common cold. If you're an avid car or RV camper, I strongly suggest you get a tripod to cook with and always use a grill mat. The tripod allows you to cook wherever there's a fire and gives you the ability to change the height of the food to control the cooking temperature. <br /> <br /> The <a href="https://somee.social/search/hashtag/grillmats">#grillmats</a> keep your food from burning, falling through the grate and allows the juices to collect, which keeps your meat nice and juicy. Plus you have a ready made gravy or a topping for the dogs food. The campsites were right at the lake with a boat launch. It was here that I mentioned wanting a <a href="https://somee.social/search/hashtag/pontoon">#pontoon</a> boat, because I need the stability these days. Later on that summer <span class="js_user-popover" data-uid="72535"><a href="https://somee.social/AlphaHippie">AlphaHippie</a></span> hit the web and found a great deal. <br /> <br /> We bought the boat and the first place we launched it was where the idea was born. Norfork Lake is a dammed river that creates a <a href="https://somee.social/search/hashtag/reservoir">#reservoir</a>. It's 60 some miles long and a great place to get away for a few days. It's along the <a href="https://somee.social/search/hashtag/GreenRiver">#GreenRiver</a> in <a href="https://somee.social/search/hashtag/Utah">#Utah</a> and about 5 miles off of I-70. This mineral build up you see Lucy checking out is from the <a href="https://somee.social/search/hashtag/ChrystalGeyser">#ChrystalGeyser</a>, which is manmade. Back in 1934 the geyser was created when a mining crew hit a pocket of Soda about 800 meters below ground.<br /> <br /> The road was awful the whole way out there, but we were able to camp directly behind the geyser. Since <span class="js_user-popover" data-uid="72535"><a href="https://somee.social/AlphaHippie">AlphaHippie</a></span> and I posted a few photos from <a href="https://somee.social/search/hashtag/WarsingDam">#WarsingDam</a> yesterday. It's fitting I show you the accommodations. I believe it's a <a href="https://somee.social/search/hashtag/StatePark">#StatePark</a>, which was in pretty good condition. That being said, AH went to help a local couple jump start their vehicle and they said the place was just recently cleaned up. <br /> <br /> Even if it was overgrown when we got there, we wouldn't have minded. We rarely boondock in manicured areas and prefer it that way. I came across this beauty in @NorthDakota, so it has a wide range for cultivation and can be found most anywhere in <a href="https://somee.social/search/hashtag/NorthernAmerica">#NorthernAmerica</a>. The young leaf shoots and flower petals can be eaten raw or steeped into a tea. All parts of this plant has a use medicinally and as an edible as well.<br /> <br /> The leaves can also be chewed into a poultice to relieve muscle aches, as well as for minor cuts, bites and even as an antifungal. The roots and inner bark have been used to treat the flu and diarrhea. The fruit is used to ease your cough, it has an unusually high levels of fatty acids and has possible promise as an antitumoral. The list goes on and I hope to have wet your whistle, so you start to check out the local plants in your area. Just to make it clear, I don't take selfies. <span class="js_user-popover" data-uid="72535"><a href="https://somee.social/AlphaHippie">AlphaHippie</a></span> is just always camera happy, so nothing escapes his attention nor shooting finger. The view from here over <a href="https://somee.social/search/hashtag/MerrittReservoir">#MerrittReservoir</a> is quite amazing with the rolling <a href="https://somee.social/search/hashtag/Sandhills">#Sandhills</a> in the background. This was from the first time we checked out the area and have continued to return over the last few years. With free <a href="https://somee.social/search/hashtag/camping">#camping</a> right at the boat launch, it's a perfect spot.<br /> <br /> The next time we came back AH forgot how tight the <a href="https://somee.social/search/hashtag/ScenicView&">#ScenicView&</a>#039;ing parking area was and put us in a bit of pickle trying to turn around. With a 31' RV towing a 24' pontoon boat, things can get a bit tricky at times. To get out of here we had to sacrifice a taillight lens, but he got us turned around. This was great little free camping spot <span class="js_user-popover" data-uid="72535"><a href="https://somee.social/AlphaHippie">AlphaHippie</a></span> found last Spring when we went out on a multi-state roadtrip to go <a href="https://somee.social/search/hashtag/Morel">#Morel</a> hunting. It ended up being too early, even though we went South to find them. We didn't care if we found any or not, because it was just about getting out of the city after a pretty cold winter. <br /> <br /> This is within the <a href="https://somee.social/search/hashtag/FieryForksConservationArea">#FieryForksConservationArea</a> in <a href="https://somee.social/search/hashtag/Missouri">#Missouri</a> along the <a href="https://somee.social/search/hashtag/NianguaRiver">#NianguaRiver</a>. There is a camping area with some back-in and pull through spots, but since the place was mostly empty we pulled up here along the river portage area for kayakers. His bestfriend is Nietzsche, so he'll share those. <br /> <br /> Here she is checking out the <a href="https://somee.social/search/hashtag/view">#view</a> over <a href="https://somee.social/search/hashtag/SilverBay">#SilverBay</a> in <a href="https://somee.social/search/hashtag/Minnesota">#Minnesota</a> on the backside of the <a href="https://somee.social/search/hashtag/LakeSuperior">#LakeSuperior</a> bluffs. This is a <a href="https://somee.social/search/hashtag/freecampsite">#freecampsite</a> AH found that has 360* views with these viewing areas all around the peak. They each have educational plaques giving you some history of the area. I'll include one or two with this post for you to read. <br /> <br /> While this spot is little more than a parking area, it's a much better experience than staying overnight in a <a href="https://somee.social/search/hashtag/RestArea">#RestArea</a>. Minnesota is one of the few states that doesn't allow overnight parking in their rest stops, so this was quite convenient for us. My entry for the <a href="https://somee.social/search/hashtag/Awesme">#Awesme</a> Tutorials 'Best Advice You Were Ever Given' <a href="https://somee.social/search/hashtag/Contest">#Contest</a><br /> <br /> One of the best pieces of advice I was given as a kid was, "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but names can never hurt me." I didn't realize the truth of this until I was much older, because those names certainly did seem to hurt. It was well after I matured before realizing that it was me who allowed those words to hurt me. The words themselves only have the power I give them.<br /> <br /> After becoming an adult the strength of this saying only became stronger and stronger. This is because before graduating from High School, where you are forced to be around the same kids everyday, there seems to be no escape. As an adult I realized that not only could I chose to or not to work around people like that, but I could also chose who I wanted in my life. It was then that I decided being popular and fitting in wasn't in my best interest and that letting people go made me so much happier. <br /> <br /> Words never hurt me again, because I realized the opinions of others don't matter and never did. I recently visited my brother in <a href="https://somee.social/search/hashtag/Florida">#Florida</a> on an epic trip, the longest roadtrip I have been on in a while. He lives in a <a href="https://somee.social/search/hashtag/community">#community</a> called <a href="https://somee.social/search/hashtag/TheVillages">#TheVillages</a>, which is 7 communities grouped together with a different theme each. They all have the same amenities as a decent sized town, ampitheater included. Everyone gets around with <a href="https://somee.social/search/hashtag/GolfCarts">#GolfCarts</a> moslty and I think they've made a horror movie based on them. They are all immaculately groomed. Here's a picture I took from his front yard.
